Replacing a Korg DSS-1 Floppy Drive

Korg DSS-1 hard drive replacement
I got this keyboard and didn’t know that the hard drive was busted until a week after I got it home. Luckily with a little research I found out that it was possible to replace the original with a Teac FD-235HF. “Chroma” on gearslutz wrote about it here. It requires a little bit of soldering and trace cutting, but the dive is only about $5 and widely available. Downside is that it is beige. To get this drive to work properly, you need to cut the trace from pin 10 and then bridge pin 10 to pin 12. You also need to bridge pin 33 to pin 34. Here are some pictures. It isn’t pretty but it works.
